Grammarly Training Concludes

The Training Programme on ‘Grammarly@edu’ organised by the Central Library concluded successfully. Mr. Jagadesh .V, Head - Technology, Bridge People Technology Solutions, Bangalore handled the training session, on 18.10.2019 in the PSB Seminar Hall of the Institute. Dr. Sainul Abideen P, Asst. Librarian and Officer in Charge (Library) welcomed the speaker. Faculty, Staff, and students attended the training session.

Library organises 'Author's Skill Development Training Programme on 'Grammarly'

 In order to improve writing skills of IISER TVM community, Central Library  organized an 'Author's Skill Development Training Programme on 'Grammarly'- grammar and plagiarism checking tool, on 18.1.2017. 

Training was provided by Mr. Rakshith Ramesh, and Karthik, Manager, Bridge People Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore.

Faculty members, staff, research scholars, students attended this skill development training Programme. Dr. Sainul Abideen, Asst Librarian & Officer i/c Library welcomed the guests.

About Grammarly
Grammarly has facility for grammar checking specific to different types of documents such as research papers (default), dissertations, academic essays, reports, book reviews, presentations, business document, creative writing, etc.  'Grammarly@edu' can also be used to verify the authenticity of the documents, i.e., whether contents are copied from other sources like websites (Plagiarism Checking).

How to Use Grammarly?
Institute library has subscription to the 'Grammarly@edu'. Those who have not created a login ID may create login ID at https://www.grammarly.com/edu/signup using their IISER email ID. 

Once the login is created, you may use Grammarly at https://www.grammarly.com/edu/signin. You may also install Grammarly as a plugin for Microsoft Word, from  http://www.grammarly.com/office-addin/windows so that advanced features of Grammarly can be used while using MS Word.

Grammarly@edu available for IISER Thiruvananthapuram community

Library has subscription to the Grammarly@edu, a grammar and plagiarism checking service. Grammarly has facility for grammar checking specific to different types of documents such as academic essays, reports, book reviews, research papers (default), dissertation, presentations, business document, creative writing etc. 

This can also be used to verify authenticity of the documents i.e whether contents are copied from other sources like websites (Plagiarism Checking).

Grammarly can be used online with a login/password. IISER TVM members can register themselves at www.grammarly.com/edu/students with their IISER email ID. (details about the registration process is appended below).

Once the login/password is created you may use it online from the above web address or may install Grammarly as a plugin for your Microsoft word, so that advanced features of Grammarly can be used while using MS Word.

Grammarly Registration Process [Applicable only for those who do not have a grammarly login]
To Set up access for the users, please follow below steps:

Step 1: Go to 
www.grammarly.com/edu/students  (mandatory to sign up from this URL)
Step 2: Click on Create Account button, fill up the self-service form. Ensure that users are registering from their 
@iisertvm.ac.in domain mail ID.
Step 3: Collect the Access Code from the Librarian and  insert it in the Access Code box.
 
An activation email will be sent to the user's institutional email ID once he/she registers. Users may at times get this in Spam Folder due to mail setting - users are advised to check spam folder in case the link is not received in their inbox.
Once registered, users will land on the 'Grammarly Editor' which is easy to use.

The MS Word Plug-in can be downloaded from  
http://www.grammarly.com/office-addin/windows after registration, the same user ID and Password credentials will grant access to use the Plug-in to the users. Kindly note that the plug-in does not work on MAC/IOS devices.
